Chicken Kebabs

Serves 4 - 6

  • 4 chicken breasts - cubed
  • 1 green pepper - chopped into chunks
  • 1 large onion - chopped into chunks

For the marinade:

  • 1 lemon squeezed
  • 2 tbs yoghurt
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 3 garlic cloves - crushed
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne
  • 1/2 tsp gara masala
  • 2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp salt

** Important **

When using fresh vegetables and herbs, make sure they are washed thoroughly and drained.

Marinate chicken with lemon and salt and allow to stand for 10 mins. Now add the remainder of the marinade ingredients, mix and leave for 1 hour or more. Put chicken, peppers and onions on skewers. Place under high heat grill for 10 - 12 mins, turning occasionally. Serve on pitta with minted yoghurt and salad.
